Why use a grab?
Fast & efficient waste removal & deliveries
A grab lorry has its own hydraulic arm and clamshell bucket, allowing it to load material from the side of the road and reach over many walls and fences without leaving a skip on site for days.
This makes it particularly useful for driveways, landscaping projects, groundwork, demolition spoil, construction sites and jobs where access for loading machinery is restricted.
For suitable jobs, we can also supply subbase, aggregate or topsoil, helping reduce empty movements and simplify the booking.

Mixed or unusual material?
Unlike a skip, different waste types cannot always be mixed and removed as a standard inert load. Different waste streams require different handling and disposal routes, which can affect the price.

Reach & obstacles
The crane can reach up to 6 metres from the side of the lorry. It can reach over many fences and walls, but cannot operate over vehicles, buildings or people.

Overhead clearance
The grab needs clear space above the vehicle. Please tell us about overhead cables, trees, scaffolding or other obstructions.
We operate a fleet of 32-tonne 8-wheel grab lorries, each with a payload of approximately 16 tonnes and a usable reach of around 6 metres from the side of the vehicle.
